A completely different approach:

Result and fact-based assessment for companies supporting diversity and equity!

EY and HBLF undertake an important responsibility in encouraging diversity and equity, recognizing inclusive organizations, showcasing their best practices. As a next step and in connection with European Diversity Month, HBLF and EY Hungary are commencing a fresh, collaborative initiative.

The establishment of a diverse and equitable corporate culture has been a strategic issue in organizations for years, not without reason: beyond its societal significance, it offers a critical competitive advantage; whether it's attracting and retaining talented employees or possibilities hidden in the synergy of different viewpoints in innovation.

We are planning to have rounds of application for the Diverse and Equitable Workplace biannually commencing from 2024, providing participants the opportunity to further develop their processes with targeted tools and accomplish enhanced outcomes in this area.

An inclusive corporate culture, of course, is not based on a single variable, but can be examined according to various frameworks. In connection with the Recognition of Diverse and Equitable Workplace, we have developed an objective criteria-based framework, which primarily focuses on the results, along key, fact-based metrics, supplemented with questions about the actions which turned out to yield effective results. In Hungary, based on current practices, measurement numbers are primarily available for the two largest groups in society (considering their numbers), women and men, hence, most of the survey's data requests are related to them. Along with this, the results related to other minority groups are also evaluated through targeted queries, during the assessment. We analyze and compare the information received during the assessment and establish a benchmark for organizations in Hungary which we regularly update and enhance whenever possible. We highlight those applicants who perform above the benchmark and separately those who perform the best. Furthermore, participating organizations can receive feedback on their relative position compared to other companies, and at our closing event, we provide informal forum for organizations to voluntarily share knowledge among eachother. The recognition can fulfil a crucial function for the applicants in developing their employer brand and can create value in the ESG field as well, aiding in the realization and reporting of their objectives.

I apply for the Diverse and Equitable Workplace Recognition

Who can apply for the Diverse and Equitable Workplace Recognition?

Any domestic or global company that has a branch location/operation in Hungary.

What are the application criteria, how is the evaluation done?

Our criteria system is based on objectivity: we consider the existence of certain measurements (for example, the ratio of women and men during recruitment selection, in the organization as a whole, differences in pay between women and men, etc.), and for applicants who have passed the previously mentioned objective filters, further questions with text responses (e.g. DEI in corporate strategy, leadership development, trainings, corporate communication topics) are also evaluated. The benchmark to attain the title is formed by comparing corporate data and building on the EY-HBLF's knowledge.

How can I apply for the recognition?

The submission of the application is done via Qualtrics, for which you can find the link at the end of the description.

Until when can I apply for the recognition?

Applications can be submitted between April 23 and May 31, 2024. The final deadline for submitting applications is 23:00 on May 31, 2024.

How will I be informed about who the winners of the title are?

The list of companies who won the title will be announced at the HBLF-EY joint event on June 19, 2024. Prior to this, we will also inform the title-winning organizations in writing.

What action should I take if I have a profound interest in DEI but I am unsure if my corporation complies with most of the criteria?

We encourage everyone to apply for the Diverse and Equitable Workplace Recognition if they are interested in DEI. Furthermore, we encourage those interested to participate in the HBLF - EY online workshop on 15 May from 13.00 to 14.00, within which we will discuss the subjects included in the application collaboratively with several organizations, as well as provide assistance with the application and launching related initiatives. The workshop also provides the opportunity to connect with other organizations to share best practices.

REGISTRATION FOR THE WORKSHOP

Why should one consider applying?

The procedure of wrapping up the application grants a chance for applicants to think through what corresponding measures would be worth to further develop, strengthen or kick-off within their own organization in the field of equal opportunities. The analysis of different topics is done in accordance with European Union directives affecting companies, as well as ESG and other criteria (pay gaps, ratio of women in leadership, etc.). This process contributes to brand building, the preparation of strategic decisions, and the reinforcement and launching of practical initiatives.

In addition to the above, we find it useful to give feedback to every applicant about current initiatives, and also to make some recommendations on which areas. some recommendations will be made about areas that could likely be worth leaning further emphasis on.

Lastly, EY and HBLF will communicate the list of title winners through numerous channels, predictably organizing further connected functions, providing visibility for the organizations.
