HBLF Diversity Charter Event Series to Share Corporate Good Practices on Diversity

This year, the HBLF Diversity Charter launched an event series in Budapest to share corporate good practices. Organized at the end of September, the EU Diversity Charter Business Café was centered around what generational diversity programs large local companies such as MBH Bank, K&H Group, and Michelin Hungária Kft. have and how they support their employees in different life situations.

The new HBLF initiative provides a platform where our charter signatories can share their good corporate practices with the participants. Organized at the end of September, Annamária Hudecz, MBH Bank’s HR Management and Organizational Communication Manager presented the bank's generational diversity program that has already won several—including international—awards. The program currently supports three groups: juniors starting their career, employees starting a family, and people over 60. In addition to continuous trainings and mentoring, the program also provides many other benefits, e.g., health screenings, baby-mother photography, grandchild-grandparent photography, plus paid paternity leave (above the legal requirements).

The event continued with a roundtable discussion: the representative of MBH Bank was joined by Béla Nagy, Managing Director of Michelin Hungária Kft., and Leila Medvey, HR Director of K&H Group. It was moderated by Zsuzsa Gárdus, our board member responsible for the HBLF Diversity Charter.

In addition to MBH, the other two companies also shared their own good practices. At Michelin, mothers-to-be are constantly informed about company news, they are invited to company events with their children. Michelin is also prepared to offer solutions to their different needs such as part-time work or home office—this can also ensure that their return is smooth, and they feel part of the community even during the maternity leave. At K&H, talented female candidates are supported, trained, and mentored for years as part of their EXCELLENT project. It is important that the impact of these programs is also measured: at K&H, for example, fluctuation within the sector is below average.
